GABRIEL MAGDALENO

Raised in a strong matriarchal family in Southern California, Mexican-American photographer and director Gabriel Magdaleno credits the resilient women in his life as the foundation of his visual practice. His warmth, respect, and excitement resonates in every image that he takes.

He relocated to NYC in 2008 and launched IN*TANDEM Magazine, an online interactive editorial that ran for 6 years. IN*TANDEM connected the young artists of the moment from a multitude of disciplines. It was in this creative hotbed that he found his second family and cultivated his savoir faire.

He has been published in Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine, Paper, Interview and OUT Magazine.

Gabriel currently splits his time between Mexico City, N.Y.C., & L.A.

Criado en una sólida familia matriarcal en el sur de California, el fotógrafo y director mexicano-estadounidense Gabriel Magdaleno atribuye a las mujeres resilientes en su vida como la base de su práctica visual. Su calidez, respeto y emoción resuenan en cada imagen que captura.

Se trasladó a Nueva York en 2008 y lanzó la revista INTANDEM, un editorial interactivo en línea que duró 6 años. INTANDEM conectó a los jóvenes artistas del momento de una multitud de disciplinas. Fue en este caldo de cultivo creativo donde encontró su segunda familia y cultivó su savoir faire.

Ha sido publicado en Harper's Bazaar, V Magazine, Paper, Interview y OUT Magazine.

Gabriel actualmente divide su tiempo entre la Ciudad de México, Nueva York y Los Ángeles.
